Compass Acquisition Anywhere Real Estate

NEW YORK, NY — Brokerage firm Compass has announced plans to acquire Anywhere Real Estate Inc. for $1.6 billion. This deal aims to strengthen Compass’s position in the competitive real estate market.

The agreement, disclosed on September 22, 2025, highlights Compass’s strategy to expand its portfolio and incorporate Anywhere’s comprehensive residential services. Anywhere operates through three segments: Anywhere Brands, Anywhere Advisors, and Anywhere Integrated Services.

“This acquisition allows us to leverage Anywhere’s vast network of brands and services,” said Compass CEO Robert Reffkin. “We believe this merger will enhance our service offerings and customer reach across the country.”

Anywhere Brands includes well-known names like Coldwell Banker, Century 21, and ERA, while Anywhere Advisors runs full-service brokerage businesses in several U.S. metropolitan areas. The third segment offers full-service title, escrow, and settlement services.

This merger could reshape the landscape of the real estate industry, positioning Compass as a leading force in residential real estate services, especially amidst rising market competition.

The acquisition is expected to close in early 2026, pending regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
