The recent episode of ITV‘s gameshow ‘The Chase‘ caught viewers’ attention for more than just the quiz competition. Bradley Walsh, the show’s host, lightheartedly accused contestant Billy of ‘cheating’ during the episode due to his standout moustache.

Billy, a 32-year-old senior Marketing Officer from Doncaster, impressed audiences with his performance, securing £5,000 in the cash builder round and staying ahead of the show’s chaser, Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis. However, it was his thick, dark moustache that truly captivated viewers and the host alike. Bradley Walsh jested, “The producers want me to have a word with you. They think you’re cheating and you have the answers written under your tache.”

The comment sparked laughter among the studio audience and viewers alike. Billy played along with the gag, humorously responding, “Yep, they’re right there. I’ve been foiled.” The moment led to a series of reactions online, with one viewer suggesting, “I think the team should get four head starts due to Billy’s moustache.” Another compared Billy to a 70s version of actor Tom Hanks.

Despite the jovial atmosphere and Billy’s commendable gameplay, his team was ultimately defeated in the final chase, scoring just 13 points. Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis caught them with 50 seconds to spare, leading to their exit without any prize money.

In contrast, fans recalled a recent historic episode where contestants Karen and Ian achieved a significant victory. Hosted by a jubilant Bradley Walsh, Karen and Ian made it to the final round and claimed a record-breaking jackpot. Ian, a magician from Middlesex, contributed £6,000 to their potential winnings. He was joined by Karen, a maths and science tutor from Macclesfield, who opted for the higher offer of £94,000, requiring her to answer one more question for victory. Her risk resulted in a triumph, elevating their total to £100,000, the largest sum ever won by a duo in the history of the series.
