Controversial Commentator Candace Owens Parts Ways with Daily Wire Amid Antisemitism Controversy

Controversial right-wing commentator Candace Owens and the Daily Wire have parted ways. Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing announced the separation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) without providing further details.

Owens confirmed her departure, stating she is ‘finally free’ in a post to her 4.8 million followers on X. She hinted at upcoming announcements and mentioned resuming her show on her personal YouTube channel, alongside sharing ways for fans to support her work.

Owens’s exit from Daily Wire follows months of tension with co-founder Ben Shapiro over her promotion of anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, particularly surrounding Israel‘s actions in Gaza after the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians in October.

Amid growing criticism for her anti-Semitic rhetoric, Owens used her platform at Daily Wire to spread controversial viewpoints, including suggesting the existence of a Jewish ‘gang’ in Hollywood and engaging in discourse about Jews and TikTok. Her actions led to public clashes with Shapiro, who is a strong supporter of Israel.

Recently, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) condemned Owens for promoting vitriolic anti-Semitism. In response, Owens expressed gratitude for the attention from the ADL, suggesting that the attacks would not deter her from speaking out.

In an interview on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Owens addressed the situation with Shapiro, highlighting her belief that his emotional ties to Israel influenced his reactions. She emphasized that Shapiro did not have the power to terminate her, asserting her independence.
