Cool Weather and Thundershowers Expected in Denver This Week

DENVER, Colorado – A series of evening thundershowers are anticipated throughout the Denver metro area on Thursday, with rainfall lasting until about 8 p.m.
The storms will bring gusty winds, brief rain showers, and lightning, creating potential hazards for residents. A cold front moving in late Wednesday is expected to increase the chances for rain and storms, coupled with cooler temperatures.
Highs are predicted to drop into the mid-50s, accompanied by enhanced gusty conditions and some mountain snow. According to meteorologists, it may be chilly enough to produce light snowfall along the Palmer Divide early Thursday; however, the warm road temperatures likely mean it won’t accumulate.
Thursday morning will feature lingering rain showers, transitioning into mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Temperatures earlier in the week were warmer but will fall into a cooler mid to upper 50s range.
Looking ahead, meteorologists expect a quick rebound in temperatures, with Friday’s highs possibly reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s, under mostly sunny conditions. The weekend looks to be primarily dry with slight chances for isolated storms in the afternoon both Saturday and Sunday, as daytime temperatures are forecasted to rise into the mid to upper 70s.
Next week, scattered storms are likely to return to Colorado, resulting in slightly cooler temperatures once again. Residents are encouraged to stay prepared for changing weather conditions.
