Country Star Announces Expecting Baby Boy at ACM Awards

FRISCO, Texas — Country music superstar, 37, revealed on May 8, 2025, that he and his wife are expecting their third child, a boy. The announcement was made during the ACM Awards, where the singer expressed excitement for their growing family.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, he stated, “We’re having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well.” Although the singer did not disclose the exact due date, he shared his happiness about the news.

The singer also spoke about how he anticipates his daughters, 10-year-old Clara Mae and 8-year-old Cori, will react to becoming big sisters. “You can’t beat my girls, I love my two girls with all my heart,” he said. He added that he is looking forward to witnessing the bond they will form with their new brother.

Reflecting on parenthood, he mentioned, “I’m a lot better off now as far as career and financially than I was when we had Clara and Cori. He’s gonna get a horse a little quicker than my kids did.” He expressed his hopes for giving his children opportunities he did not have growing up.

When asked if he always wanted to have a son, he chuckled and replied, “Yes,” but added, “I didn’t care if this one was a boy or a girl, but I was pretty happy when I saw the gender reveal.” The couple has been married for over ten years, having met in their teenage years. They welcomed Clara in 2015 and Cori in 2017.

Moreover, Johnson shared his support for his daughters’ future aspirations, stating he wants them to pursue their dreams, whether in music or other fields. He plans to fully back them in whatever paths they choose.

At the ACM Awards, Johnson, nominated for Entertainer of the Year, expressed that winning such an accolade would mark a significant milestone in his career. He remarked, “It’s a culmination of my entire career’s hard work and all the people God has placed around me.”
