Craig Doyle Takes on Celebrity MasterChef

TV presenter Craig Doyle is stepping into the culinary spotlight as he joins this year’s Celebrity MasterChef. Known for his charm since the mid-90s on Disney Club, Craig has recently become a household name, especially after the shake-up of the presenting team on This Morning.

With Holly Willoughby and another host stepping down, there were several gaps to fill. Craig, alongside Cat Deeley, has taken on a main hosting role during the week, while Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary fill in on Fridays. Craig has also become a popular stand-in with Josie Gibson during holidays, thanks to their excellent chemistry.

Now, Craig is stepping out on his own, bringing his personality to the famous MasterChef kitchen. Fans are excited to see how he handles the heat of cooking in front of the judges.

Away from the cameras, Craig treasures his time with his wife Doon and their four children. Doon, who is also from Ireland and was an interior designer, prefers to stay out of the limelight while Craig shines on TV. They split their time between their homes in Wicklow and Kew, which works well for Craig’s work commitments.

Craig fondly recalls the first time he met Doon at the gym, describing it as love at first sight. He even shared an awkward story about their initial dating days, where a handshake replaced a kiss on what was supposed to be their kissing date.

Marking their 20th wedding anniversary two years ago, the couple is now proudly raising their children: Quinn, Muireann, Milo, and Elsa. With the kids growing up, some fans were surprised to learn that Craig is actually 53, leaving them amazed at how well he has aged.

In a humorous moment, Craig also shared a funny story about his brother Keith, who made headlines for accidentally leaving an immersion heater on for seven years. Craig jokingly referred to it as a “sin worthy of excommunication in Ireland,” demonstrating the family’s light-hearted spirit.
