Criminal Investigation Launched Against Tate Brothers in Florida Following Controversial Arrival

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — A criminal investigation has been initiated against British-American influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who arrived in Florida last week from Romania. The brothers are facing serious charges in Romania, including rape, human trafficking, and sex with a minor.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the investigation on Tuesday, revealing that search warrants and subpoenas have been issued. “Our office began a preliminary inquiry into Andrew and Tristan Tate,” Uthmeier stated, emphasizing Florida’s commitment to holding individuals accountable for human trafficking and violence against women.

Uthmeier further remarked, “These guys have publicly admitted to participating in soliciting and preying upon women around the world. Many victims, including minors, are coming forward with allegations against them. We will not accept such behavior in Florida.” The Tates, who are dual US-UK citizens, arrived via private jet shortly after prosecutors in Romania lifted certain restrictions on their travel.

The brothers are not only facing charges in Romania but also a civil lawsuit in the United States. A woman alleges that the Tates coerced her into sex work and defamed her after she provided testimony to Romanian authorities. The Tates categorically deny all allegations against them.

The controversy surrounding the Tates intensified following their arrest in Romania in December 2022 and subsequent legal complications, including an appeal that led to their release from house arrest. Both brothers have been required to report monthly to Romanian police, raising questions about their current legal status.

Following their arrival in Florida, Uthmeier stated, “If any of these alleged crimes trigger Florida jurisdiction, we will hold them accountable.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has expressed his disapproval of the Tates and has indicated that the state is prepared to act if necessary.

In addition to the ongoing investigations in Florida and Romania, the Tates face separate allegations in the UK, including charges of rape and human trafficking. Four women there have filed a civil case against Andrew Tate, claiming coercive control and sexual assault. The brothers have denied these allegations as well.

Andrew Tate has publicly criticized the Florida investigation, labeling it an attempt to tarnish his reputation amid ongoing legal troubles. He asserts that he has no criminal record and insists that he has not been tried or convicted of any crime.
