Critical Motorcycle Accident Leaves Woman in Grave Condition

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A 19-year-old woman is in critical condition after a motorcycle collided with a truck on Friday evening. The crash occurred around 6:50 p.m. when a truck was making a left turn off State Street onto 1300 South. According to Salt Lake City spokesman Yaier Javaid, the truck driver hit the brakes, causing the northbound motorcyclist to collide with the vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman on the ground suffering from potentially life-threatening injuries. She was immediately transported to the hospital for urgent medical care.
Initial reports from police mistakenly indicated that the woman was in her 30s, but they later corrected this information, noting that she is indeed 19 years old. Further details regarding the cause of the truck driver braking were not immediately available.
Police have stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to gather more information about the circumstances leading up to the collision.
