Cultural Celebrations In Tipperary For St Patrick's Day

Excitement is building in Tipperary as the county prepares for vibrant celebrations on St Patrick’s Day. Parades and festivities are set to take place in various towns, each offering unique attractions to locals and visitors alike.

In Templemore, a special feature this year is a big screen where individuals living away from home can send heartfelt messages to their loved ones on the day. Additionally, the CJ Kickham Brass and Reed Band is eagerly anticipating the arrival of the University of Missouri Marching Mizzou band in Tipperary Town for a memorable performance.

Littleton, known for its enthusiastic participation, is gearing up for its 26th St Patrick’s Day parade, with founding members Margaret Bannon and Charlotte Cashin leading the procession. The parade in Littleton will kick off the county’s celebrations as the first parade to start on March 17.

Meanwhile, Cashel has opted for a festive celebration on the Plaza in lieu of the traditional parade this year. The town’s community event will feature circus entertainers, local musical talent, and plenty of dance and fun activities for all attendees.

Clonmel, the largest town in Tipperary, is preparing for its St Patrick’s Day Parade with Ms. Shauna O’Keeffe, a prominent boxer and five-time national title-winner, as the Grand Marshal for the event. The day will begin with a flag-raising ceremony and a morning parade to St Mary’s Church in Irishtown.

In Carrick-on-Suir, preparations are underway for a vibrant parade featuring Shamrock Rovers star Lee Grace as the Grand Marshal. The parade will start from the Library car park at Parkside and promises special surprises and entertaining displays for the spectators.

Thurles is set to host its St Patrick’s Day Parade in Liberty Square with the theme ‘Youth: Our Hopes for the Future.’ The event will include live music, face painting, and prizes for the best dressed windows, encouraging active participation from the local community.

Lastly, Nenagh’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Concert and Festival Market will feature a lineup of local artists, including Martin Grace, Trudi Lalor, JPs Gigantic Disco, and many more. With a family-friendly atmosphere and a variety of entertainment acts, the event promises an enjoyable celebration for all attendees.
