Dakota Johnson Makes Surprise Appearance On 'snl' With Jimmy Fallon And Justin Timberlake

Actress Dakota Johnson surprised audiences as she made a special appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL). The show, which took place at Rockefeller Center‘s Studio 8-H, marked Johnson’s return to the iconic stage since her hosting gig in 2015. Back then, she had shared the spotlight with notable figures like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and even Donald Trump, who had not yet launched his presidential campaign.

During her opening monologue, Johnson couldn’t resist taking a jab at Trump, joking about standing close to the person who would become the most powerful individual in America. As a promotion for her upcoming movie ‘Madame Web‘ from Sony Pictures, Johnson shared a clip of her younger self playfully rolling her eyes on a red carpet while her father, actor Don Johnson, engaged in banter with journalists.

The surprise appearances didn’t stop there. When Johnson announced Justin Timberlake as the night’s musical guest, Timberlake himself joined the stage, pretending to be confused that he was also expected to host. Timberlake reminded everyone that he has hosted the show multiple times before, even making a cheeky reference to his hit song ‘SexyBack.’

Later in the show, Timberlake participated in the sketch ‘The Barry Gibb Talk Show,’ joining Jimmy Fallon who reprised his role as Barry Gibb. The duo engaged in a comedic conversation about American politics, particularly Trump’s attempts to secure the GOP nomination and return to the White House after his defeat in the 2020 election.

The show’s ‘Weekend Update‘ segment featured numerous jokes about Trump and his legal troubles. Anchor Colin Jost highlighted a clip of Trump using the term ‘de-bank’ during a campaign speech, leading to a comical wordplay response. The sketch also included surprise cameos by Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban from ‘Shark Tank,’ as they joined Johnson in a book club-themed skit.

Throughout the night, Timberlake showcased his musical talent as he performed two songs. The first song, ‘Sanctified,’ featured a rap by Tobe Nwigwe with a small choir, while the second song, ‘Selfish,’ offered a stripped down performance accompanied by a keyboard and drums.

Justin Timberlake‘s musical performances marked his seventh appearance on SNL. He is set to release a new album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was,’ on March 15 and will embark on the Forget Tomorrow world tour starting April 29 in Vancouver.
