DALLAS, TEXAS – The Dallas Mavericks return to the American Airlines Center on October 11, 2025, for a preseason game against the Charlotte Hornets. This matchup comes after the Mavericks recently traveled to Oklahoma City, where they defeated the Thunder in their first preseason outing.

The Mavericks managed to score over 100 points in their first game despite facing challenges with shooting accuracy and capitalizing on 16 turnovers by the Thunder. They also displayed a notable rebounding advantage, out-rebounding Oklahoma City by 15.

Head coach Jason Kidd is expected to test various strategies against a Hornets team known for their fast-paced style. A key player to watch is rookie Cooper Flagg, who faced his former Duke teammate, Kon Kneuppel, for the first time.

“I’m excited to see how we perform against another team,” Flagg said. “Playing against my old teammate is going to be a fun challenge.”

Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball is also under scrutiny as he aims to improve his efficiency and reduce turnovers, especially against a Mavericks defense that features significant size. The Mavericks will be looking to establish a solid offensive rhythm, focusing on both transition scoring and half-court execution.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM CST and can be viewed on KFAA Channel 29, as well as through Mavs TV and NBA League Pass for those outside the viewing area.

As the preseason continues, fans are eager to see how the young Mavericks roster, led by Flagg and supported by returning veterans, will perform before the regular season begins.
