Notably, guest judge Gene Simmons of the legendary rock band KISS brought his iconic personality to the judging panel.
Simmons, known for his on-stage persona and musical prowess, joined regular judges including Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. “I want to see every contestant channel their inner rock god and release the kraken,” Simmons stated, setting the tone for the night’s performances. The celebrity contestants faced the challenge of embodying classic rock energy in their dance routines.
The event showcased standout performances, with Chandler Kinney receiving high praise for her Jive routine. “Chandler, you fogged up my glasses,” quipped Simmons, expressing his admiration for her performance. Meanwhile, Brooks Nader impressed with a Cha Cha routine, earning accolades from Tonioli for her visible improvement and focus.
The scores from both ‘Hair Metal Night’ and the previously aired ‘Soul Train Night’ were combined to determine which pairs would continue in the competition. Ultimately, Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater, alongside Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart, were eliminated. Despite the disappointment, Roberts commented on the enriching experience, saying, “I have never had a better working experience in my entire professional life.”
During the night, several performances wowed the audience, including Joey and Jenna’s Tango to “Rock You Like a Hurricane” by Scorpions, which received one of the highest scores of 36/40.
