Death of Actor Yu Menglong Fuels Controversy Over Sacrificial Claims
Beijing, China — The death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong on September 11 has ignited widespread outrage and debate. Authorities have stated that Yu died from an accidental fall after a night of heavy drinking, but many are questioning the official investigation’s findings.
In a shocking claim, a former Chinese official named Youliao suggested that Yu Menglong’s death was not an accident but part of a sacrificial ritual. Youliao alleged that Yu was selected for this ritual because his birthday, June 15, coincides with that of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
According to an article in Foreign Policy, folklore holds that when a king’s age declines, a person born on the same day is chosen as a sacrifice. Initially dismissed as a conspiracy theory, the connection gained traction when Feng Shui expert Ma Xian identified similarities between Yu’s demise and ancient texts regarding human sacrifices.
Ma Xian mentioned that ancient rituals aimed at enhancing longevity might have parallels with Yu’s death. He cited the presence of a significant 49-day gap between Yu’s passing and a crucial Communist Party meeting scheduled for October 20.
The case drew additional comparisons to the 2016 death of actor Qiao Renliang, who also died close to Xi Jinping’s father’s birthday. This has further fueled speculations of mysterious sacrificial practices within China’s elite.
Ma Xian also pointed to unusual occurrences before Yu’s death, including a blood moon and strange weather patterns, regarded as omens in occult traditions. In addition, a military parade held a week before Yu’s death raised suspicions, as ancient rituals often required a preparation period.
Public interest in Yu’s death has surged, with various online claims suggesting that he sustained ritualistic injuries, heightening the intrigue surrounding the circumstances of his passing. As the debate unfolds, questions about the authenticity of these claims and their implications for China’s political landscape continue to linger.
