Decatur Beach Party Sand Street

Decatur, Georgia – The city will transform part of its downtown area into a beach on Friday, bringing 60 tons of sand to create a sandy street “beach” on Ponce de Leon Avenue. The annual Decatur Beach Party aims to deliver family-friendly entertainment and tropical summer vibes to residents and visitors alike.

This popular event will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. and is free for everyone. Attendees can enjoy live music from various performers, including Spaghetti Junction, students from Ztunes Music Academy, Polly Holliday, and Nero Smith and the Sunsetters.

In addition to the music, the Beach Party will feature on-site food trucks offering traditional boardwalk fare and frozen treats. Participants can also take part in activities such as building sand castles, playing beach ball games, and engaging in squirt toy battles.

Children and families can explore other activities including rock climbing, dunk tank challenges, face painting, chalk art, and tie-dye T-shirt making. Meanwhile, costumed jugglers will entertain the crowd with their skills.

The event is set to take place rain or shine, with only severe weather such as lightning causing a cancellation. For those needing directions, the GPS address is 101 E. Court Square, Decatur. More information about the event can be obtained by calling 404-371-8386.
