Delhi Police Probe Pro-Khalistan Group Involvement in Rohini Blast
The Delhi Police are actively investigating a bomb blast that occurred near the CRPF School in Rohini, Delhi, on Sunday, with a focus on possible involvement by pro-Khalistan groups. The blast, which was strong enough to damage the school wall, nearby shop windows, and a parked car, did not result in any injuries but caused significant property damage.
The investigation gained momentum after a Telegram channel named ‘Justice League India‘ posted CCTV footage of the incident along with a threatening message. The message claimed the blast was in retaliation for the alleged targeting of pro-Khalistan separatists by Indian agents. Delhi Police have written to Telegram seeking information about the channel and its operators, but as of now, Telegram has not responded to the request.
According to police officials, the explosive used was a crude bomb containing traces of potassium chlorate, hydrogen peroxide, and electrical wires. The blast is believed to have been caused by a low-intensity IED controlled by a timer or remote. The area was quickly secured by teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Delhi Police, who are collecting evidence and investigating all possible angles.
The NIA is likely to take over the investigation from the Delhi Police for further probing. The incident has heightened security concerns, especially given the recent diplomatic tensions between India and Canada over anti-India activities by Khalistani groups.
