Delta Force Revives Co-Op Chaos in New FPS Campaign

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 20, 2025 – Team Jade’s latest installment, Delta Force, aims to breathe new life into co-op first-person shooters with its unique approach to gameplay. Based on Ridley Scott’s Academy Award-winning film, Black Hawk Down, the new campaign offers players an adrenaline-fueled retelling of the Battle of Mogadishu, allowing them to team up with friends rather than relying on AI-controlled allies.
Delta Force encourages players to adopt strategies that emphasize teamwork over sheer firepower. As players navigate through the campaign’s initial chapter, they face the daunting task of infiltrating a heavily guarded compound, requiring careful observation and tactical planning to survive. “You could go in all guns blazing, but you’re likely to find yourself facing a grim fate,” the development team warns.
In a recent interview, Ricky Liao, game design director, spoke about the game’s commitment to authenticity. Instead of experiencing pivotal events through elaborate cutscenes, Delta Force utilizes Unreal Engine 5 to provide players an immersive battlefield experience. “We want Delta Force players to feel really engaged with the universe we are trying to build, feeling as if they are truly on the battlefield,” Liao stated.
The environments echo the intense atmosphere of the original 2003 game, combining narrow alleyways and unpredictable scenarios. A key moment, inspired by the movie’s helicopter crash, intensifies gameplay. Players must coordinate their actions, whether searching for survivors or scouting for threats, highlighting the importance of teamwork.
Delta Force offers various classes, allowing players to customize their loadouts based on their preferred playstyle. Whether equipped with a scoped rifle for long-range observation or assault rifles for mid-range combat, the game supports diverse strategies. “No one is left behind when it comes to playstyle,” Liao emphasized, honoring the tradition of large-scale multiplayer battles from the Delta Force series.
With seven chapters, the gunplay in Delta Force remains relentless. The game’s sound design enhances the experience, capturing the ambiance of a battlefield. “Every piece of debris you kick up adds to the tension,” explained Liao. The fourth chapter serves as a standout moment, where players swap traditional weapons for a mounted light machine gun, guiding a convoy through enemy fire. This blend of urgency and camaraderie harkens back to a time when military simulation shooters prioritized realism.
Team Jade aims to make the campaign accessible for both novice and experienced FPS players. If one player unlocks a chapter, the entire party gains access, fostering a collaborative environment. However, players should approach the game cautiously as getting hit can quickly incapacitate them, heightening the stakes. Delta Force is currently free to play and rewards players with exclusive bonuses for completing the campaign. Before gathering your team for battle, ensure everyone meets the requirements to gear up effectively.
