Delta Force Revives Co-Op FPS Gameplay with Intense Campaign

REDMOND, Wash. — Team Jade‘s latest cooperative shooter, Delta Force, is breathing new life into the cooperative gameplay experience, inspired by Ridley Scott‘s acclaimed film Black Hawk Down. Released on February 20, 2025, this first-person shooter (FPS) offers players the chance to engage in collaborative warfare, retelling the harrowing Battle of Mogadishu.
The campaign emphasizes teamwork, where players must strategize and cooperate rather than adopting a lone-wolf approach. In the first mission, players are encouraged to assess their environment and execute their plan carefully to infiltrate a fortified compound filled with adversaries. Charging in recklessly may lead to a swift defeat.
“We want to make Delta Force players feel really immersed and engaged with the universe we are trying to build, and feel like they are really on the battlefield,” said game design director Ricky Liao, in a recent interview. The design utilizes the Unreal Engine 5 to enhance player immersion, replicating the tense atmosphere of urban combat.
One of the campaign’s standout moments is a recreated helicopter crash, a pivotal scene in the film. This event unfolds with both horror and an intense firefight, demanding players to collaborate to secure the crash site, manage potential casualties, and scout for threats.
Players have the freedom to choose various classes and weapons to suit their playstyle. “No one is left behind when it comes to playstyle,” Liao said. Whether using scoped rifles for reconnaissance or assault rifles for close encounters, each team member’s choices impact their mission’s success.
The campaign spans seven action-packed chapters, each featuring relentless gunplay and heightened realism. The sound design amplifies the experience, capturing every footstep and gunfire, drawing players deeper into the battle.
A particularly memorable segment occurs in chapter four, where players control a convoy under heavy fire while employing a mounted light machine gun. The teamwork required to push back enemy forces reflects the gritty realism characteristic of early 2000s military shooters.
Delta Force caters to both new and experienced FPS enthusiasts. When one player unlocks a chapter, all members in the party gain access, making it easier for friends to join the fray. The campaign introduces a fresh layer of difficulty, where players are not indestructible and need to strategize to avoid being incapacitated.
Delta Force is free to play and currently available, offering exclusive rewards as players progress through the campaign. Those interested are advised to gather their friends and prepare for intense battles ahead.
