Denzel Washington Gladiator Ii Black Panther 3

In a recent interview on the Today Show, Academy Award winner Denzel Washington revealed some exciting news for his fans. Washington confirmed that he will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the highly anticipated sequel, Black Panther 3. Director Ryan Coogler is currently writing a role specifically for Washington, marking his debut in the MCU.

Aside from his upcoming role in Black Panther 3, Washington is also set to star in the sequel to the epic historical drama Gladiator. In Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott and written by David Scarpa, Washington plays Macrinus, a former slave-turned-powerful gladiator promoter. His performance in the film has been praised, with many critics noting that he steals every scene he is in. The movie also features a star-studded cast including Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen[3][4][5].

Washington’s involvement in Gladiator II is just one of several projects he has lined up before his planned retirement. He will also play the ancient Carthaginian general Hannibal in an untitled epic drama directed by Antoine Fuqua, and he plans to return to the stage to play Othello and later King Lear. These roles continue his long-standing appreciation for William Shakespeare, following his previous adaptations of The Bard’s works[3].

The news of Washington’s impending retirement, although it may come as a shock to his fans, does not indicate any slowing down in his career. With multiple projects in the pipeline, including a potential film with director Steve McQueen, Washington remains as active and committed to his craft as ever[3].
