Diane Keaton Actress Obituary

Los Angeles, CA – Diane Keaton, the beloved Oscar-winning actress, passed away at the age of 79, her family announced on Saturday, October 11. A spokesperson shared that further details about her death would not be provided, as the family has requested privacy during this difficult time.

Carole Bayer Sager, a close friend and collaborator, recalled her last visit with Keaton just two or three weeks before her death. In an interview, Sager noted that Keaton had lost significant weight and appeared very thin. She explained that Keaton’s health declined rapidly in her final months, a period marked by increased privacy.

Sager said, “She had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside,” after wildfires ravaged parts of California earlier this year. Keaton spent months away from her home for repairs. When she returned, Sager was shocked at how much weight she had lost.

Keaton, known for her roles in iconic films such as “Annie Hall” and “Something’s Gotta Give,” faced health challenges that were not publicly disclosed. Friends mentioned that she had stopped appearing in public earlier this year but kept her struggles private, choosing to spend time with her closest family instead.

Following her passing, fellow actors and friends took to social media to express their condolences. Robert De Niro described her as “brilliant, funny and unapologetically herself,” and emphasized the deep impact she had on those around her. “A legend, an icon, and a truly kind human being,” he added.

In her last public appearance, Keaton attended the birthday party of her co-star Jack Nicholson. Ed Begley Jr., who worked with her in the past, spoke openly about his admiration for her, recalling her warmth and spirit. “I’m glad I knew her these many years,” he said, visibly emotional.

As tributes pour in, many remember Diane Keaton not just for her memorable performances but also for her vibrant personality and creativity.
