Diddy Sex Trafficking Trial Nears Conclusion After Weeks of Testimony

NEW YORK, NY — The trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faces serious charges including sex trafficking, entered its sixth week with prosecutors nearing the conclusion of their case after calling 34 witnesses.
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to accusations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Key testimonies have come from former girlfriends Cassie Ventura and an anonymous accuser referred to as “Jane,” both detailing abusive experiences during their relationships with the music mogul.
During the trial, Ventura alleged that she endured years of physical abuse from Combs, describing incidents where he would beat her for perceived slights such as spending too long cooking dinner or using the restroom. She testified about drug-fueled “freak-offs” where she was coerced into sexual encounters with multiple men in Combs’ presence.
Another key witness, known as “Mia,” claimed Combs sexually assaulted her multiple times while she worked as his personal assistant. She described a toxic environment where she felt she had no choice but to comply with his demands.
In addition to the witness testimonies, the prosecution presented video evidence from a 2016 incident at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, showing Combs allegedly assaulting Ventura. This video has been labeled as a pivotal piece of evidence in the case.
Throughout the proceedings, Combs’ defense has argued that all sexual encounters were consensual, attempting to portray the relationships as complex dynamics rather than acts of assault or trafficking.
With the prosecution expected to rest soon, the defense is anticipated to present its case next, which may include fewer witnesses. Judge Arun Subramanian has indicated the trial may conclude with jury instructions and deliberations starting shortly thereafter.
