Dodgers Game 3 Nlcs Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from returning to the World Series after defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Thursday night. The win gives the Dodgers a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

In the final inning, Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts made an impressive backhanded stop and throw to first base, reminiscent of Derek Jeter‘s iconic plays. Betts, who has transitioned from right field to outfield, spoke about his confidence in making such a daring play, saying, “We have a lot of confident guys in the room.”

This postseason, the Dodgers have shown remarkable strength, winning nine out of ten games after a regular season that saw them with 93 wins. They swept the wild card round and dominated the Division Series against the star-studded Philadelphia Phillies, allowing just three runs in 27 innings in this NLCS. As they look to close out the series in Game 4, starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow has been a pivotal force, pitching effectively in the last two games.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised his team’s bullpen, noting their resilience. Roberts stated, “We knew all along we were going to need these guys. And these guys are delivering, which is huge.” The bullpen’s contribution was critical, allowing just one baserunner after Glasnow exited the game.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy expressed hope for his team’s chances, despite facing a difficult situation. Milwaukee has struggled offensively this series, managing only nine hits while batting a mere .101. However, Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick, who left the game due to hamstring cramps, expressed his determination to return, stating, “I feel confident it’s going to come.”

The Dodgers’ defense has also been exceptional, as demonstrated by Max Muncy‘s sliding catch in the second inning, which prevented the Brewers from scoring. Muncy reflected, “It was kind of a big moment,” highlighting the tightness of the game.

With a chance to complete the sweep on Friday, the Dodgers are poised to join the ranks of teams that have defended their title successfully. Betts cautioned his teammates, quoting basketball legend Kobe Bryant, “The job’s not done. So, we’ve got to keep going and just keep applying pressure.”
