MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee Area Technical College’s downtown campus was locked down Thursday afternoon after reports of masked individuals entering the premises. The incident began around 1:47 p.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Students were instructed to lock doors and windows and shelter in place. According to the college, the all-clear was given just before 3 p.m. when police determined that the suspects had left the area without further incident.

“I was in my audio class. We barricaded doors after we found it was real. We didn’t know what to expect,” said Steven Jenkins, a student who experienced the lockdown firsthand.

Milwaukee police received multiple calls about suspicious persons on campus. Officers and K-9 units searched the building thoroughly. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and police have indicated there is no known threat at this time.
