Dylan Efron Clarifies Showering Comments with Speedo Video

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Dylan Efron attempted to clarify his opinion on personal hygiene by showcasing his showering habits in a playful video shared on social media Tuesday.

In a recent Instagram story, the 33-year-old reality TV star presented evidence that he does indeed shower after his controversial comments on the Feb. 28 episode of an interview show, where he asserted, “I think people shower too much. We take way too many showers.” During the playful exchange with host Brianna Morales, Efron further explained, “I go in the pool a lot. Like, there’s chlorine — it’s killing everything.”

After his initial remarks prompted mixed reactions online, including comments such as, “I want to go back to a time I didn’t hear this take on too many showers,” Efron responded by sharing a clip of himself under an outdoor shower while wearing a vibrant Speedo. In the video, he drenches himself under the shower while humorously calling it proof that he practices good hygiene.

Commenting on the video, Efron wrote, “Proof I do shower, lol this counts, right?” showcasing that despite his earlier remarks, he actively participates in personal grooming.

The showering debate sparked by Efron comes amid a growing trend of celebrities revealing their unconventional hygiene habits. For instance, actors Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher also sparked conversations in 2021 when they discussed their preference for not washing with soap every day, with Kunis stating, “I didn’t have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn’t shower much anyway.”
