Easter Weekend Supermarket Opening Hours: What You Need to Know
As the Easter weekend approaches, many individuals in the UK are gearing up for a well-deserved long break. However, for those planning a quick dash to the supermarkets for some last-minute Easter essentials, it’s crucial to be aware of the modified opening hours due to the Bank Holiday weekend.
Major supermarkets in the UK have announced adjusted operating times for Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. While most large supermarkets will be closed on Easter Sunday, some smaller branches may remain open.
Aldi stores in England and Wales, for example, will be closed all day on Easter Sunday but open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday. In Scotland, Aldi stores will remain open on Easter Sunday.
Similarly, Asda outlets in Scotland are set to stay open on Easter Sunday with most Asda Express stores functioning normally. However, Asda stores in England and Wales will be closed on Easter Sunday, with larger supermarkets closing but convenience stores remaining open on Easter Monday.
Co-op‘s larger stores in England and Wales will be open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday but closed on Easter Sunday. However, smaller convenience stores will continue operations throughout the Easter weekend.
Other major supermarkets like Lidl, M&S, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose have also released their Easter weekend operating hours. Customers are advised to check specific store finders for exact timings, as they may differ across locations.
In Shropshire, supermarkets including Ludlow, Donington Wood, Market Drayton, Telford, Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Whitchurch, Bridgnorth, Wellington, Cefn Mawr, Ellesmere, and Newport will observe adjusted hours for Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday, with Easter Sunday seeing closures across most branches.
