Eddie Murphy Mel B Angel Brown Transgender Support

LOS ANGELES, CA — Angel Brown, the 18-year-old child of actor Eddie Murphy and singer Mel B, has come out as transgender, now using he/him pronouns on social media. The announcement has drawn support from both parents, who are proud of their son’s decision.

Angel, who celebrated his 18th birthday in April, quietly changed his pronouns on Instagram, signaling his transition to his followers. An insider told Mail Online, “It’s a decision Angel made, and Mel has been understanding, likewise Eddie. There was no big event to mark it. Angel just wanted it to be known what pronouns are now suitable.”

Mel B, born Melanie Brown, recently expressed her love for Angel in a heartfelt birthday message on social media. She wrote, “Happy birthday to my Angel! I cannot believe you are 18. You are so special and so bright and so talented! I couldn’t be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are, but you’ll forever be my baby.”

Mel B is a proud mother of three, including two daughters: Madison, 13, and 26-year-old Phoenix. Murphy, known for his roles in films like “Daddy Daycare,” has ten children in total. His eldest son, Eric, recently married Jasmin Lawrence, the daughter of comedian Martin Lawrence.

The transition news follows a larger cultural discussion about transgender identity in the celebrity world. Recently, Airyn De Niro, daughter of actor Robert De Niro, also shared her experience coming out as transgender, receiving support from her father.
