Mahindra Xuv700 Electric Test

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is actively testing a new range of electric vehicles, notably including what is known to be an electric iteration of the Mahindra XUV700. This upcoming electric model is expected to closely resemble the design and profile of the current internal combustion engine (ICE) version of the XUV700, according to reports from industry sources.

In a departure from the XUV.e9 variant, which involves significant structural changes, the XUV.e8 is planned to maintain most of its predecessor’s design elements, though with contemporary enhancements. Among the noteworthy features at the front, the vehicle will exhibit a prominent light assembly. This includes T-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) that connect via a light bar, as well as vertically aligned LED headlamps.

Other notable exterior design elements include a stout bonnet, redesigned alloy wheels, a blanked-off grille, front parking sensors, and radar apparatus for advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology. At the rear, the SUV’s taillamp design is retained from the ICE version with some adjustments. Notably, it features an extended roof spoiler equipped with a high-mounted stop lamp, rear parking sensors, and a charging port integrated into the rear fender.

The interior of the electric SUV is expected to see major transformations compared to the current XUV700. It will boast a three-screen configuration that spans the entirety of the dashboard. Two of these screens are anticipated to be larger than those found in the traditional engine variant, while the third will provide new functionalities.

Additional features likely packed into the XUV.e8 include dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree surround camera, a premium audio system, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seating, a wireless charging pad, a revamped central console with added storage, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The new electric model signifies Mahindra & Mahindra’s commitment to expanding its presence in the electric vehicle market. The XUV.e8 is yet to have an official launch date but is generating significant anticipation within the automobile industry.
