Elena Rybakina Claims Stuttgart Title With Dominant Win Over Marta Kostyuk
Elena Rybakina secured the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix title in Stuttgart with a commanding victory over Marta Kostyuk in the final. The Kazakhstani fourth seed made a strong start by breaking to love in the opening game and confidently took the first set by a score of 6-2.
Kostyuk struggled to find answers to Rybakina’s game, with the Kazakhstani breaking early in the second set as well to extend her lead. The unseeded Ukrainian player found it tough to match Rybakina’s pace and power, eventually succumbing to a 6-2, 6-2 defeat.
Rybakina, who had earlier defeated top-seeded Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals, continued her dominant form throughout the final. Despite a brief challenge from Kostyuk when the Ukrainian had three break points at 3-2 down in the second set, Rybakina remained composed and closed out the match convincingly.
After her victory, Rybakina expressed her gratitude to her team and the tournament organizers, highlighting the energy from the crowd as a key factor in her success. With this win in Stuttgart, Rybakina adds to her titles at the Brisbane International and the Abu Dhabi Open this year and looks ahead to the upcoming US Open.
For Kostyuk, this marked her second final defeat of the year after a loss in the San Diego Open in March. Despite the outcome, Kostyuk appreciated the support from the fans, especially the presence of Ukrainian flags in the crowd during the tournament.
