Emergency Response After Students Attempt Charles River Swim

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) – Emergency responders gathered on the Mass. Ave Bridge early Tuesday morning after two students tried to swim across the Charles River.
The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. when a call to 911 prompted police and fire crews to rush to the scene. Responders utilized flashlights and a boat to search the waters for the students.
Fortunately, both individuals were later located safe on land, alleviating concerns among the responders and the public.
