Emmitt Smith Fundraiser El Paso

One of El Paso’s mayoral candidates is set to receive a boost from a renowned professional football icon. Emmitt Smith, a former Dallas Cowboys player who holds the NFL record for most rushing yards, will lend his support at a fundraiser luncheon scheduled for later this month.

The event, featuring Smith, is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 21. General admission tickets are priced at $250 and offer attendees the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session with Smith. Meanwhile, VIP tickets are available for $500, granting guests access to a photo op and a semi-private meeting with the NFL legend.

Johnson, among the earliest candidates to announce a bid for the mayoral seat in January, is currently navigating a competitive race leading up to the general election on November 5. The crowded field includes ten candidates, three of whom are current El Paso City Council members. This extensive competition suggests that the election is likely headed for a runoff.

Voters are reminded that they may cast their ballots at any early voting location. Information on these locations is available to ensure accessibility for the electorate.
