Entergy Mississippi Tornado Relief Donation

JACKSON, Miss. – Entergy Mississippi announced today it is committing $25,000 to support communities affected by recent tornadoes that struck several counties within its service area.

The financial aid will be directed to the American Red Cross, which is providing vital assistance, including meals, shelter, and relief supplies, to families recovering from the devastating storms that occurred on March 15, 2025.

“We’ve taken on the responsibility of serving our communities beyond just providing electricity,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi. “This weather event has devastated some families, and we hope this donation will help them at the beginning of this hard road towards recovery.”

Entergy Mississippi’s grant will enable the Red Cross to mobilize quickly and efficiently to address the urgent needs of the residents impacted by the tornadoes. “Our priority is to ensure that those affected receive immediate help so they can begin their recovery journey,” Fisackerly added.

The affected counties include Grenada, Issaquena, Sharkey, Walthall, Smith, Sunflower, Rankin, Madison, Copiah, and Carroll counties. These areas were hit hard by the recent storms, leading to significant disruptions and damage.

In response to the storms, Entergy Mississippi activated over 860 workers, including lineworkers and support personnel, to help restore power to the 9,200 customers who experienced outages. By Sunday, they had restored power to the majority of affected customers and aimed to fully restore electricity to those who could safely receive it by Wednesday.

As part of its long-standing commitment to community engagement, Entergy Mississippi regularly partners with disaster relief organizations like the Red Cross. This proactive approach allows immediate response when emergencies arise, ensuring timely relief for families in distress.
