49ers’ Jones, Jennings Expected to Play Against Buccaneers

Tampa, Florida – San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver Jauan Jennings are expected to play in their Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jones, who is dealing with an oblique injury, was listed as questionable but showed optimism after limited practice sessions earlier in the week. Jennings, also marked questionable due to ankle and rib injuries, is set to return to the field, providing a boost to the 49ers’ offense.
The 49ers are currently enjoying a strong season with a 4-1 record. Jones has filled in for starter Brock Purdy, who is sidelined with a toe injury, and has led the team to victory in all three games he has started. This season, Jones has completed 66.7% of his passes for 905 yards, six touchdowns, and just one interception.
In addition to Jones and Jennings, rookie Adrian Martinez will serve as the backup quarterback in this contest. Other players listed as questionable include defensive tackles Kevin Givens and Arik Armstead, safety Tashaun Gipson, and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir. Their statuses will be finalized 90 minutes before kickoff.
The matchup at Raymond James Stadium will feature two teams that are each looking for their fifth win of the season. The Buccaneers (4-1) have also faced injury setbacks but remain competitive.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. With both Jones and Jennings likely on the field, the 49ers will aim to continue their winning momentum against a formidable Buccaneers team.
