Saturday Night Live February 22 2025 Rerun Details

NEW YORK, NY — Viewers of Saturday Night Live (SNL) should not expect a new episode on February 22, 2025. Instead, NBC will air a fan-favorite rerun featuring host Paul Mescal and musical guest Shaboozey. The decision for a rerun follows the recent SNL50 festivities that took place earlier this month, celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary.

Paul Mescal, a former SNL cast member, previously hosted the show on December 7, 2024. His episode featured a variety of sketches, including a parody of the popular Spotify Wrapped, and marked his first appearance as a host. As musical guest, Shaboozey performed two songs from his repertoire, “Good News” and “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The episode, originally aired in December, showcased Mescal’s comedic and musical talent during his hosting stint.

The milestone SNL50 celebration kicked off with a series of events, including a star-studded live concert hosted by Jimmy Fallon. The concert took place on February 14 and featured performances from musicians like Lady Gaga, Cher, and Jack White, among others. The following day, a three-hour live primetime SNL50 special aired, bringing together past and present cast members for a nostalgic look back at the show’s legacy.

As for what lies ahead, the next new episode of SNL is scheduled for March 1, 2025, featuring comedian Shane Gillis as the host and Tate McRae as the musical guest. Lady Gaga will follow, performing both roles on March 8 to celebrate the release of her latest album, “Mayhem,” which drops on March 7.

NBC’s rerun lineup on February 22 will first air Bad Bunny’s episode from October 21, 2023, at 10 p.m. ET, showcasing his notable dual performance as host and musical guest. At 11:30 p.m. ET, viewers can relive the magic of Paul Mescal’s episode from Season 50. The wave of nostalgia from SNL’s recent anniversary celebrations is palpable, but fans are eager for new sketches as the season progresses.

Gina Vivinetto, a reporter for TODAY.com, noted that SNL’s celebrations include documentaries on Peacock, such as “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” and “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music.” The availability of such content allows long-time fans to relive iconic moments from the U.S. sketch comedy landscape.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming episodes, viewers remain hopeful for more laughter from the SNL cast as they continue to honor the legacy of the series throughout Season 50.
