Family Seeks Answers in Jaylon Fox’s Killing on Easter Sunday
HOUSTON – The family of 19‑year‑old Jaylon Fox is urgently seeking community assistance following his tragic shooting death on April 20, Easter Sunday. Fox, a father to a two-month-old son, was found unresponsive around 3:35 p.m. near 3102 Rosalie Street.
Paramedics arrived on the scene, but Fox was later pronounced dead. His grandmother expressed her heartbreak, stating, “He didn’t have to lose his life like that. He left behind a two-month-old son. He was only 19 — he didn’t deserve to leave this world.”
At a press conference on Wednesday, family members criticized the slow investigation and lack of communication from Houston detectives. “It’s only been five months, and it doesn’t seem like anyone cares,” a family relative voiced their frustration. “Every time we call, we’re told different things.”
With emotion in her voice, Jaylon’s mother made a heartfelt plea to the community. “If this had been any of y’all’s kids and you saw something, say something,” she urged. “Call the 222‑TIPS hotline — you don’t have to give your name. Just tell them something that will lead to capturing the person who killed my child. I don’t know if I’m safe. When is this going to stop?”
Houston police have released images of potential persons of interest related to the case and are asking anyone with information to contact them at 713-222-TIPS.
