Fan Kicked Out of JoJo Siwa Concert Over Hoodie

GLASGOW, UK — A woman was ejected from JoJo Siwa‘s concert last week for wearing a hoodie that featured an unflattering image of the pop star. The incident occurred during Siwa’s Infinity Heart Tour performance.

The fan, identified as Anjali, was enjoying the concert when Siwa paused the show to address her outfit, which depicted the singer’s face in the shape of an egg. Anjali admitted she had no idea the image was offensive, as it was initially circulated as a meme in 2022, mocking Siwa’s hairline.

“I thought it would be funny,” Anjali said in a TikTok video after the concert. “JoJo has a good sense of humor, so we thought she’d laugh. We didn’t mean any harm.”

More than 40 minutes into the concert, Siwa announced that they could not allow such attire, insisting, “We only got room for infinity hearts in here.” Consequently, Anjali and her friend were escorted out.

Anjali explained they had no official concert merchandise to wear and hence decided to create their own outfit by printing an image from the internet. They simply Google-searched “funny JoJo Siwa picture” and used the first result.

“At the time, it seemed harmless,” she added. “We didn’t know about the history of that image.” After talking to concert staff, Anjali felt ignored and frustrated as they attempted to clarify the misunderstanding.

Many fans took to social media to voice their opinions. Some criticized Siwa’s reaction, arguing that since she had previously posted the same image, Anjali had no way of knowing it was offensive. Others, however, defended Siwa, citing the bullying she has faced regarding her appearance.

In light of the incident, Anjali later reached out to Siwa, expressing her regrets over the misunderstanding. “None of it was with malicious intent. JoJo, I’m so, so sorry,” she wrote on TikTok.
