When reporters from Le Soleil arrived at the scene on the morning of September 27, 2024, they encountered a devoted group of fans absorbed in their screens, eagerly watching the newly released music video for “Birds Of A Feather.” Notably, the group was predominantly made up of women. Leading the queue at Gate 15 on the west side entrance was Daphné Couture, proudly wearing the number one bracelet, which granted her the freedom to leave for necessities such as food and restroom breaks without losing her coveted spot in line.

Daphné, a 21-year-old from Quebec City, has been spending her past three days around the amphitheater with high hopes of catching a glimpse of Billie Eilish. On Thursday, she believed she saw the star’s feet along with her bodyguard. To secure prime positioning for the concert, general admission ticket holders were permitted to start forming the line beginning at 8 A.M. on the day of the event. Like many others, Daphné camped overnight at the Centre Vidéotron campus to ensure she was first in line.

Further down the line, reporters met Kim and Ellie, both 21-year-olds from Australia. The pair arrived in Quebec on Sunday with the intention of being among the first to experience the “Hit Me Hard And Soft” tour performance. This trip marks their inaugural visit to Quebec, though not their first Billie Eilish concert. Kim has attended one previous show, while Ellie boasts having seen the American singer eight times.

“We just love it,” Kim explained, highlighting their continued enthusiasm for camping out for prime concert experiences, having done so for other artists like Noah Kahan. “It’s worth it for her,” Ellie added. The two expressed approval of the preparations made by Centre Vidéotron to accommodate enthusiastic concertgoers.

An additional testament to Eilish’s influence is Sandrine, another fan who transitioned to a vegan lifestyle after being inspired by an interview featuring Eilish’s mother. Sandrine, a 27-year-old from Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, has followed Eilish closely, attending up to 20 of her concerts. “I wasn’t aware of the environmental impact of consuming animal products until then,” Sandrine confessed.

Such dedication highlights the unique connection Eilish maintains with her fans, many of whom regard her as an inspiration not just through music but in lifestyle choices. Like others who spoke with Le Soleil, Sandrine lauds not only Eilish’s music but also her compelling personality.
