Faran Tahir Returns as Raza in Marvel’s Vision Quest Series
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Faran Tahir, known for his role as the villainous Raza in 2008’s *Iron Man*, is set to reprise the character in Marvel‘s upcoming Disney+ series *Vision Quest*, sources confirmed to Deadline. The series, a spinoff of *WandaVision*, will star Paul Bettany as Vision and is expected to explore his journey to regain his memory and humanity.
Tahir’s return marks his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since *Iron Man*. Raza, the leader of the terrorist organization the Ten Rings, was last seen attempting to kill Tony Stark. Details about how the character will be integrated into *Vision Quest* remain under wraps.
The series, which has been in development since 2022, was officially greenlit in May 2024. It will also feature James Spader reprising his role as Ultron, alongside Todd Stashwick in an undisclosed role. *Star Trek: Picard* executive producer Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner.
Bettany, who has played Vision in three Marvel films and *WandaVision*, expressed excitement about the project last October. “We are cooking up something that I’m really excited about,” he said, per Deadline. He also praised *Agatha All Along*, another *WandaVision* spinoff, calling it “incredible” and expressing pride in showrunner Jac Schaeffer.
Tahir, a versatile actor with credits in film, television, and theater, recently starred in multiple international projects, including *Umro Ayyar* and *Rawalpindi Express*. His TV work includes *The Old Man*, *12 Monkeys*, and *The Blacklist*. He was awarded the Voices of Courage and Conscience Award by the Muslim Public Affairs Council in 2011.
*Vision Quest* is part of a broader slate of MCU projects set for release in the coming years. While a premiere date for the series has not been announced, it is expected to debut in 2026. Meanwhile, Marvel fans can look forward to films like *Captain America: Brave New World* and *The Fantastic Four: First Steps* in 2025, as well as Disney+ series such as *Daredevil: Born Again* and *Ironheart*.
