Father Pushes For Prosecution In Peter Beale Trial Amid Allegations Of Collusion

The ongoing trial of paediatric surgeon Peter Beale in the Johannesburg High Court has taken a dramatic turn as Mohammadh Sayed, the father of a deceased 10-year-old boy, testifies, pushing for prosecution at all costs.

Beale faces charges of murder and fraud, concerning the deaths of children he operated on, with the prosecution alleging reckless behavior and unnecessary surgeries conducted for financial gain.

Sayed’s son, Zayaan, tragically passed away following a surgery performed by Beale in 2019, a procedure the state claims was deemed unnecessary based on pre-operation tests.

During cross-examination, Beale’s defense attorney, Advocate Barry Roux, highlighted Sayed’s early calls for criminal prosecution, suggesting a preconceived intent to pursue charges against Beale irrespective of factual evidence.

Roux also raised the presence of Julius Malema, leader of the EFF, who appeared in court to support Sayed. Malema’s connections to Sayed and his business partner, Adriano Mazzotti, are well-documented.

The defense’s line of questioning regarding potential collusion was quickly objected to by the prosecution, leading to its abandonment in court.
