FBI Thwarts Possible Halloween Terror Attack in Michigan
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The FBI has thwarted a potential terrorist attack intended for Halloween weekend, according to Director Kash Patel. Early on Friday, Patel announced on X that multiple individuals were arrested in Michigan due to an alleged plot for a violent attack.
Patel stated, “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend. More details to come.” He also expressed gratitude for the dedication of FBI agents and law enforcement across the nation.
The FBI’s Detroit field office confirmed their presence in Dearborn and Inkster, but did not provide specific details about the operation. Spokesperson Jordan Hall reassured the public that there is currently no threat to public safety.
The Dearborn Police Department acknowledged the FBI’s activities in the city, stating, “We want to assure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time.” However, it remains unclear whether the FBI’s operations in these areas are connected to the arrests mentioned by Patel.
Additional information regarding the suspects and the nature of their alleged plot has not yet been disclosed. The FBI has indicated that further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
