FDA Recalls Over 19,000 Cases of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar

Jacksonville, Florida – The FDA has issued a recall for more than 19,200 cases of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar after the product was found to contain regular sugar instead of the advertised zero-sugar content. This recall comes after concerns were raised regarding potential health risks associated with this mistaken labeling.
The affected cases were produced by Pepsi Beverages Company, which is under license from Keurig Dr Pepper. The soda was distributed to retailers in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. The recall was formally announced on June 5, 2025, though the recall was initiated on May 23, 2025.
Dr Pepper Zero Sugar is classified as a Class II recall, meaning it could cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to the FDA. Consumers who are monitoring their sugar intake for medical reasons are advised not to consume the recalled product.
To identify the recalled cases, consumers should check for the code number and sell-by date on the packaging. No other Dr Pepper products were affected by this recall. Customers can return the recalled soda to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement.
If you are not monitoring your sugar intake, there is no need to take action regarding the recall as the product is not dangerous, but the flavor may differ from what is expected.
