Female Corp Members Outshine Female Soldiers in Tug of War Game during West African Social Activities Celebration
Female corps members serving in Imo State demonstrated their exceptional strength and emerged victorious in a thrilling ‘Tug of War‘ game against female soldiers. The intense competition took place during the celebration of the West African Social Activities 2023 organized by the Officers of 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Owerri.
The nationwide event, held at Brigade Garrison Parade Ground Obinze, provided an opportunity for military personnel to foster camaraderie and showcase the diverse cultural heritage that unites our nation. This long-standing military tradition promotes national cohesion and acceptance, recognizing the diligent efforts of both military and civilian participants within the formation.
A standout participant, Corps Member Azubuike Chinemerem E. (IM/23A/3110), received accolades for her remarkable commitment and exceptional performance at the Brigade. The distinguished title of “Best and Most Committed Corps Member” was presented to her by the NYSC Imo State Coordinator, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, who graced the occasion as one of the esteemed guests.
Commending the Nigerian Army, the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, lauded the professionalism exhibited by the Brigade, under the leadership of Brigadier General U. A Lawal, during the recent gubernatorial election in the State. Represented at the event, the Governor urged the officers of the Brigade to continue their tireless efforts in ensuring the maintenance of peace in Imo State.
The captivating festivities included the mesmerizing performances by various cultural troupes, the presentation of awards, and the symbolic lighting of the bonfire to mark the conclusion of the event.
