Prince George, British Columbia — Crews for the popular TV series The Amazing Race Canada filmed episodes in Prince George last week. On Friday, May 2, 2025, production teams were seen near Mr. PG at the intersection of highways 16 and 97, as well as at various locations throughout the city.
During a Prince George city council meeting on Monday, Coun. Cori Ramsay mentioned the filming, noting that it took place in front of Mr. PG and on the campus of the University of Northern British Columbia.
Andy Beasley, the director of civic facilities, stated that more city facilities were involved in the filming. However, he was unable to provide further details at the time.
The Amazing Race Canada, which is based on the Emmy Award-winning American series, showcases Canadian landmarks alongside international destinations. Hosted by Olympic gold medalist Jon Montgomery, the show features teams of two racing in diverse challenges across the globe. Contestants use various modes of transportation, including planes, boats, and taxis, as they work to avoid elimination in each leg of the race.
The competition concludes at a Finish Line where the first team that arrives wins a grand prize of $250,000. As of now, it remains unclear when the Prince George segment will air.
