Ballot Drop Box Locations 2024 Election

As the 2024 general election approaches, many voters are opting to use ballot drop boxes as a convenient and secure way to submit their votes. Here’s how you can find and use these drop boxes in various regions.

In Douglas County, Colorado, for example, there are 21 ballot drop boxes strategically located to ensure that over 90% of the population is within three miles of a convenient location. These boxes are made of strong, weather-resistant metal, bolted to the ground, and equipped with 24/7 video surveillance and lighting to enhance security and transparency. Voters can even monitor the drop boxes through a public live stream provided by Douglas County Elections.

In Maryland, ballot drop boxes are available in multiple locations across the state, with boxes open from late September through 8 pm on November 5, 2024. Voters can find specific locations by county, such as in Allegany, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery counties, among others. These locations include public buildings, schools, and community centers.

In New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, voters also have the option to drop off their mail-in ballots at designated locations. In New York, mail-in ballots can be dropped off at poll sites or the County Board of Elections Office until 9 pm on Election Day. In New Jersey, ballots must be dropped in secure ballot drop boxes or delivered to the county’s Board of Elections Office by 8 pm. In Connecticut, ballots must be returned in person to the Town Clerk’s office or via a secure drop box outside Town Hall by 8 pm.

In Oregon, voters can use the Oregon Drop Box Locator to find official ballot drop sites in their county. Ballots must be received at these locations by 8:00 pm on November 5, 2024, to be counted. Voters can also download a PDF of the drop site locations or contact their County Elections Official for more information.
