Fire Breaks Out at Haywood Mall in Greenville, No Injuries Reported

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville City Fire Department is responding to a fire at Haywood Mall on Wednesday. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene around 1:35 p.m.

The fire is located in the vacant side of the former Sears store within the mall. The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County EMS are also on site assisting with the incident.

According to officials, there have been no reported injuries, and the mall is not being evacuated at this time. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.

“We are working quickly to assess the situation and ensure the safety of everyone involved,” a fire department representative stated.

As of now, shoppers at the mall are being advised to stay clear of the affected area until further notice. More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
