Fire Displaces Four Families in Tyler, Texas Apartments

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – A fire severely damaged an apartment building on North Tyler Avenue Monday evening, displacing four families without injuries reported.
Emergency dispatchers received a call about the fire around 6:40 p.m., according to Fire Marshal Joey Hooten. Responding crews discovered that smoke had filled the attic and flames spread through the walls of the residences.
Hooten stated, “Four families have lost their residences because of the fire.” Investigations suggest the fire likely originated from an electrical panel within the wall, the Deputy Fire Marshal reported.
The quick response of fire crews prevented further damage, but the loss of homes has left the affected families seeking assistance. Hooten emphasized the importance of checking smoke alarms regularly and urged residents to remain vigilant.
Local organizations are mobilizing to support the families who have lost their homes, providing immediate resources and potential housing solutions.
Hooten concluded, “It’s always tragic to see families displaced in such a manner. We encourage the community to come together to help.”
