First Look at Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man in Masters of the Universe

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A first look image of Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man has been revealed by Amazon, building excitement for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular franchise, Masters of the Universe. Directed by Travis Knight, the film is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
The newly released image features a shirtless Galitzine wielding a large sword, suggestive of his character’s powerful persona. The frame is intentionally composed to cut excess details, focusing on Galitzine’s determined grip on the weapon, with armored elements adorning his wrist and mid-chest.
“We aim to remain faithful to the beloved source material while also providing a fresh take that resonates with today’s audience,” Knight said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to have an amazing cast that is just as excited about this project as I am.”
In addition to Galitzine, the film features a star-studded cast that includes Alison Brie, Idris Elba, Morena Baccarin, and Jared Leto. The story follows Prince Adam, who was separated from his magical Power Sword as a child. Almost two decades later, he must track down this crucial weapon to protect his home planet, Eternia, from the villainous Skeletor.
Recently, it was announced that Jon Xue Zhang has joined the cast as Ram-Man, alongside Sasheer Zamata as Suzie and Christian Vunipola as Hussein. These additions hint at a wider battle brewing on Eternia.
The screenplay is crafted by Chris Butler and is based on earlier drafts by David Callaham, with previous directors Aaron and Adam Nee having also contributed.
Masters of the Universe has a storied legacy, originating as a line of Mattel toys in the 1980s. The franchise has been adapted into various formats, including a miniseries and a Netflix reboot. Fans are eager to see how Knight’s interpretation holds up against the nostalgic original content.
“It’s an honor to be part of a story that has shaped so many childhoods,” Galitzine commented during a promotional event. “I can’t wait for fans to see what we’ve created.”
As the release date approaches, more promotional materials and updates are expected. Stay tuned for further developments in this exciting project.
