Florida Man Charged After Threatening to Assassinate President Trump

LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. — Justin Blaxton, a 34-year-old man from Loxahatchee, is facing multiple charges following a series of alarming 911 calls where he allegedly threatened to assassinate President Donald Trump and launch missiles at New York City. This incident took place late on February 26, when Blaxton contacted the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) multiple times, reportedly identifying himself as ‘Justin Blaze.’
During one of the calls, he demanded, ‘I need a ride to the airport to be taken to the White House to assassinate the President.’ He went on to claim, ‘I’m about to launch missiles to destroy New York,’ asserting, ‘I’m a Confederate soldier and I’m looking to get revenge. My missiles are attracted to Donald Trump’s tower.’
Following these threats, deputies conducted a welfare check at Blaxton’s residence the next morning but found him absent. When contacted by phone, he reportedly told a deputy to ‘send Donald Trump to his house or he was going to kill his sons.’
Blaxton was arrested the following day after being located by authorities. He faces charges including making a threat to discharge a destructive device, making a false report of a bomb, and making false 911 calls. According to court documents, he has a history of mental health issues, with numerous calls to law enforcement dating back to 2019.
His father informed deputies that Blaxton had been exhibiting irrational behavior for several months prior to the incident, which contributed to authorities’ concerns regarding his mental state. Jason Russell, a former U.S. Secret Service agent, commented on the situation, stating, ‘Every threat is going to get some level of attention. A good percentage of the people that make threats have some level of mental illness or are experiencing some type of mental breakdown.’
Blaxton’s bond has been set at $35,000, and he is scheduled for a hearing in mental health court on April 16. The PBSO continues to investigate the matter, taking the threats seriously given the current political climate and history of threats against public figures.
