Florida Weather Forecast Predicts Rain, Storms for Upcoming Days

ORLANDO, Fla. – Weather patterns are shifting in Central Florida, bringing much-needed rain this weekend after weeks of dry conditions. A weak cold front is moving towards the area, increasing the chance of showers and thunderstorms.
On Friday, there is a 20% chance of isolated rain or thunder in the area, with most locations remaining dry. Highs will reach the mid-80s along the coast and the upper 80s inland, accompanied by an east-southeast breeze with gusts up to 20 mph.
As the weekend unfolds, Saturday is expected to bring a slightly higher chance of afternoon showers, between 20% and 30%. The storms, largely influenced by sea breezes, may produce brief heavy downpours and gusty winds, but it will not be a total washout. Highs are predicted to hit the upper 80s inland while coastal areas stay in the low 80s.
Sunday promises to be more active, with a higher moisture level and stronger sea breezes. Scattered storms are likely, particularly along and east of Interstate 95, and some of these could be strong, with frequent lightning and heavy rain. Rainfall could range from a quarter-inch up to 2 inches in some areas.
During Monday, another round of showers and storms is expected as the lingering front interacts with active sea breezes, with some potential for stronger storms.
Looking ahead to next week, forecast models indicate a drying trend by Tuesday into midweek, although the duration of this dry period remains uncertain. Temperatures will continue to be warm, generally ranging from the mid- to upper 80s.
Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather forecasts as the conditions evolve over the coming days.
