Flower Mound School and Auto Shop Start Major Projects This Spring

FLOWER MOUND, Texas — A significant maintenance initiative at Liberty Elementary School is set to commence this spring, one of several maintenance projects outlined by the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) this week.
The project is part of the district’s 20-Year Life Cycle Maintenance and Repair plan, which targets facilities whose major components have reached the end of their expected lifespan. This comprehensive maintenance approach is designed to ensure that school buildings remain safe and functional for students and staff.
According to the LISD website, the selection of facilities for these projects is based on a needs assessment detailed in the LISD Facilities Assessment Study. Feedback from various departments and the Facilities Review Committee also plays a crucial role in determining which schools receive attention.
As part of the 20-Year Life Cycle Maintenance and Repair project, LISD typically oversees the replacement or repair of critical building components. The specific details regarding which components will be addressed at Liberty Elementary during this project will be disclosed as the work progresses.
In addition to the school maintenance plans, Fifth Gear Automotive-Argyle has officially relocated to a new address at 1612 East FM 407, adjacent to the New Song School of the Arts, following the acquisition of its previous location through eminent domain.
This move was necessitated by the expansion of Highway 377 from a two-lane to a four-lane divided highway, a project managed by Atmos Energy and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Fifth Gear Automotive stated that while the transition was unexpected, the team quickly adapted by setting up a temporary office at the new site.
“Once completed, the new facility will offer expanded capacity and state-of-the-art equipment, enabling us to better serve the community with enhanced services and improved customer satisfaction,” the company said in a public statement.
Fifth Gear Automotive is a family-owned business that has been operating since 2004, with six locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The company specializes in service, maintenance, and heavy-line repair for a diverse range of vehicle makes and models, including hybrids, electric vehicles, and European cars.
