Foodynamics Pet Food Salmonella Recall

Wales, WisconsinFoodynamics is voluntarily recalling several brands of its pet food products due to potential salmonella contamination, according to an announcement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The impacted products include specific lots of Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets, and What’s In the Bowl freeze-dried pet treats.

The recall comes after routine FDA testing detected salmonella in samples of the products. Salmonella can pose health risks to both pets consuming the food and humans handling it, particularly if proper hygiene is not maintained.

The affected items were shipped between September 1 and September 17, 2025, to retailers in Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. Consumers may notice affected products have a “best by” date of August 27, 2026, and a lot number of 239 printed on the packaging.

So far, there have been no reported illnesses related to the recalled products. However, symptoms of salmonella infection in pets can include lethargy, diarrhea (possibly bloody), vomiting, fever, and decreased appetite. Even healthy pets can be carriers, able to transmit the bacteria to humans or other animals.

If owners suspect their pets have consumed the recalled products and exhibit these symptoms, the FDA advises contacting a veterinarian. Humans who come into contact with the contaminated products may also experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping.

Consumers are urged to dispose of the recalled pet food safely to keep it away from children and other animals. Additionally, they should thoroughly clean and sanitize any surfaces or utensils that may have been in contact with the products.

For refunds, customers can return the recalled items to the place of purchase. For more information, individuals can contact Teresa Perry at Foodynamics by calling 262-421-5339, available Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
