Former ‘Hollyoaks’ Star Paul Danan Dies at 46, Management Confirms
LONDON, UK — Former ‘Hollyoaks‘ actor Paul Danan has died at the age of 46, his management company, Independent Creative Pr, announced on Instagram. The news came just days after Danan shared a heartfelt video expressing his renewed passion for acting.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Paul Danan at just 46 years old,” the statement read. “Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.”
Danan, best known for his role as Sol Patrick in the British soap opera ‘Hollyoaks,’ had recently posted a video of himself reciting Shakespeare, showcasing his enduring love for acting. In the clip, he expressed excitement about auditioning for a role in ‘Twelfth Night,’ describing the experience as “exhilarating.”
His longtime friend, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, paid tribute to Danan on social media, writing, “Paul Danan… a friend of mine… I’m so shocked and heartbroken…. my darling man… I will cherish all our happy memories. RIEP u beautiful amazing talented human.”
Danan rose to fame in the early 2000s, not only for his role in ‘Hollyoaks’ but also for his appearance on the original series of ‘Celebrity Love Island‘ in 2005. His personal life often made headlines, including his relationships with high-profile figures like Katie Price and Kelly Brook.
In recent years, Danan had been open about his struggles, including his battle with addiction to vaping. Last year, he revealed that he had collapsed at his parents’ home and was rushed to the hospital, calling his survival a “miracle.”
Despite his challenges, Danan remained committed to his craft. In 2023, he received a lottery grant to fund a theater project, and in 2022, he appeared on the reality show ‘The Big Celebrity Detox,’ which he later admitted was a difficult experience that required therapy.
“I had to get a bit of counseling,” Danan said of the show. “It taps into a lot of stuff – like rejection. It’s brutal.”
Danan’s management has requested privacy for his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. No further details about his death have been released.
